I stumbled on the above as a conversation starter in a book at church. It was suggested as a way to meet a new face after Mass..(The original was a question from a California congregation.) I modified and used it this morning. I sat in a new part of the church, to 'touch base' with Emmaus sister Linda. She was not there. But the next person that entered my pew was a forty year old Creole man and we helped each other find verses and pages. After Mass I asked his name, which is Michael. Also turned behind me and talked to a new face, Marie..She happened to be shopping for a church. I told her the quote. She laughed and said she had recently moved from the part of California where they picked apples. She is also looking for a job. She is a Pediatrician, and has' head hunters' trying to find her the right post. After our visit, I showed her to our open twenty four hours a day Adoration Chapel. What interesting people have you met through a church? Is it a good place to meet people?
The second review of all pages of my book, Anna is complete. Next I am giving myself six weeks to place final corrections on it. Them it is on to the editor. Sigh.
My first summer vacation of two was a gathering of 13.5 family members. (Thirteen adults and one little girt, Evangeline), in Mary Esther, Florida. Wonderful memories. Sorry every single member of the family could not be there, but we did manage that last Christmas.
Next event, in mid July, will be a taste of Oil City/Franklin Pennsylvania, to refresh the creative juices for my nest book, Matka and see all the relatives. . Then on to Cleveland for another family gathering. What makes your heart purr this week?
